Profile
Granite Gorge, located on Route 9 on the Keene/Roxbury, N.H., line, offers winter recreation for the whole family. The location was selected in the 1950s when a group of former Olympians went looking for a site in southern New Hampshire. Pinnacle Mountain was selected because of its north face, protection from the wind, and ability to hold snow. Today, the area features downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, tubing, and a terrain park. There is a 1,500-foot base-to-summit double chair.
Lodging
No lodging on-site. Town of Keene, five miles away, offers a variety of accommodations.
Recreation
Skiing on 17 trails, tubing park with Wondercarpet lift, walk up terrain park for both snowboarders and skiers, and cross country trails. Night skiing and snowboarding.
