Chevrolet's smallest offering is adding another door for 2009.The Aveo5 joins the recently redesigned Aveo sedan as Chevrolet's solution for folks who want a simple, small, no-fuss car. In fact, when it goes on sale, the new 5-door hatchback is expected to be the least-expensive car sold in the United States.
But that doesn't mean the Aveo5 is boring. With standard OnStar, optional XM Satellite radio and a peppy 107-horsepower 1.6 liter engine, the smallest Chevy offers plenty of fun.“Customers will be surprised by the ‘big’ features of the Aveo5 – big room, big style, big refinement and, of course, big fuel economy,” said Ed Peper, Chevrolet general manager.Speaking of fuel economy, the Aveo5 is estimated to go 26 miles on a gallon of gas in the city, and get 34 mpg on the highway with the 5-speed manual transmission. That translates into an average of more than 400 miles between fill-ups.
